FAQs

The Cheeses

I am lactose intolerant, can I eat your cheeses?
Yes! Our cheeses are completely plant-based, so there is no lactose in our cheeses.

How should I store the cheeses?
After opening, re-wrap the cheeses in the cheese paper that is was in, and place it in your fridge. Do remember: the cheeses are perishable after opening (so please consume them within a few days).

How long can I keep my cheese out of the fridge?
We recommend leaving your cheese not more than 2 hours out of the fridge. After that, wrap it (like described in the question above) and store it for later use. Although we fully understand if you've enjoyed all of it at once ;)!

I started eating my Camembetter a few days ago and white mold is starting to grow - can I still eat it?
If you have a white rind cheese like Camembetter, and white mold starts growing (e.g. from the outside rind) that is completely normal. The mold 'lives', and thus will grow if it has the opportunity to do so after you cut your cheese.

If other mold starts growing (not white, but e.g. yellow / pink / blue) please discard the cheese. It is probably contaminated  (e.g. from a knife, hands or the fridge).

Can I eat the rind?
Absolutely!

Delivery & Returns

To which areas do you deliver?
During the winter period we deliver anywhere in the Netherlands (<10 degrees C).
As our products need to be refrigerated during distribution, when temperatures increase we only deliver in the provinces North-Holland, South-Holland and Utrecht. If you live somewhere else, but would love to order our cheeses, please contact us here, and we will do our best to get cheese your way.

What is your delivery lead time?
We have a delivery time of 1-3 working days. We do most of the delivery ourselves, which is why we try to combine as many orders as possible. We let you know in advance, when we expect to deliver your order.

What is your return & refund policy?
All returns or refunds are handled on a case by case basis. Please send us an email at info@thecheesegrowers.com for questions related to returns or refunds.

What are your delivery costs?

Delivery to Noord/Zuid Holland and Utrecht is €4.95.
Delivery to the rest of the Netherlands is €9.95.

Free delivery on orders above €40.
Delivery costs for the rest of the Netherlands are higher because the distribution needs to be temperature controlled.
